Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters® empowers families at risk of hunger with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make healthy and affordable meals. With the help of volunteer culinary and nutrition experts, course participants learn how to select nutritious and low-cost ingredients and prepare them in ways that provide the best nourishment possible to their families. About the Opportunity

Cooking Matters is creating multimedia case studies to understand, document, and communicate the realities low-income families face when trying to make healthy, tasty meals for their families on a budget, and how knowledge and skills learned during the Cooking Matters course has helped them in their daily lives. We are seeking a photographer who can accompany a research firm during the interview process and produce powerful images that will be paired with the case study data, used in online photo journals, and be able to stand alone for additional communication needs. The images should tell a story about each family and capture the location, personal qualities of the family, and portray the families as they shop, cook, and eat together.
