The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

About the Opportunity

For thirty years we have been communicating our mission and purpose for existence with partners, funders and legislators. We are well versed in what we do an we believe we are making a difference across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. But what about the children we are serving? They are the ones being effected by the services we provide for them. Youth are too often quieted and put in the background of what is going on all around them. Some of our students didn't have food at home or a bed to sleep in when we first met them. Sure, we can talk at length about how we changed that child's life, but we need to empower our youth even more by giving them a voice. We want to share with the world how that child felt after being able to eat on weekends away from school or their first night in a bed; from their perspective.
