About the Organization

Cambodian Living Art's mission is to facilitate the transformation of Cambodia through the arts. We collaborate to create an environment where Cambodian arts empower and transform individuals and communities. We do this by building the capacity of artists and the arts community, by promoting awareness of the arts, and by advocating for the arts with cultural policymakers and major institutions. In doing so, we aim to create value and understanding of what it means to be Cambodian and to create a sense of unity and shared culture. We believe that through creativity we can each expand our potential as human beings.

About the Opportunity

Cambodian Living Arts (CLA) is seeking volunteer photographers to take photos of our different programs. These photos will be used in our communication documents in order to promote Cambodian performing arts. Our programs focus on arts education for young people. CLA’s Masters teach their young students traditional music such as Cambodian opera, poetry chanting, classical and folk dancing and large shadow puppetry. CLA also builds capacity in these young artists by providing workshops with renowned international artists. In addition, CLA is creating sustainable models for the arts by organizing regular performances where young artists are given the opportunity to perform and earn a living from their arts. Therefore, photographers will be welcome to attend our Children of Bassac performances, as well as the bi-annual Cambodian Youth Arts Festival.
