Ghana is today the symbol of growing Africa. Democracy was restored in 1992, their economy is growing rapidly with a 6% annual average, and exports have tripled since 2000. A new working middle class of craftsmen and small traders is growing inside the society.
In this context, an Italian based non-profit organization, “Amicus”, is operating a micro-credit program, in collaboration with the “Youth and Social Enterprise Fund” of Ghana, to help young people to build their own business.
Workinghana is a photographic project that shows, through workers’ portraits, the facets of the new growth, especially based on individual concerns.
